Become a Market Leader with Social Media

Find me on:

Social Media is the new radio ad, the new T.V. ad, new billboard and new water-cooler all-in-one. Is it possible to grow your business without social media? Sure. But it is a lot easier if you embrace it!

As of January 2017, there were 2.8 billion users on Social Media, with Facebook alone receiving 1.9 billion unique monthly users. That is a nearly infinite market of potential buyers available at the tips of your fingers. Never in history has a business had the opportunity to grow without even leaving their office!

This post will give you 3 easy ways to develop your social media presence, and use your newly found passion for presence to embrace a new market and become a market leader with social media!

1) Set SMART goals.

SMART goals are the cornerstone of any successful social media strategy. SMART stands for Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant, Timely. By using SMART goals, you will be able to efficiently track and evaluate how well you are using social media, and by association how well you are using it to grow your business.

An example of a SMART goal would be:

Increasing overall Facebook traffic, by 25%, from 100,000 to 125,000, by June 30th

Setting a goal in this fashion allows you to continually analyze your social media presence and ensure it is at a level to continue to grow your business. For a more detailed look into SMART goals click here.

2) Know yyour audience.

As of May 3rd, 2017, Facebook has 1.28 billion people who use its services every day. Each of these users is a unique individual, and so to try and produce content that will interest everyone is an impossible task! Instead, spend some time with your sales team and create some Buyer Personas

These are the shared characteristics that make up your target market. By focusing on appealing directly to this audience, you can produce content which directly appeals to that specific persona.

3) Create interesting, relatable content.

As Bill Gates famously announced in 1996, “Content is King!” Content is what will drive your social media growth, every other aspect can be perfect but if the content is lacking it can all fall apart. It is hard to sell an empty box!

For many businesses, content on social media falls way down on the list of priorities. Simply clicking ‘share’ on an article, most don’t worry about what is on their page as long as something is. What can separate you from the rest is implementing a Content Plan, aimed at delivering high-quality, informative posts which will be of use to your potential buyers.

A content plan is crucial to ensure your business uses social media effectively. With each published blog post, article, or video, your social media presence grows. A successful content strategy is made up of four steps: Plan, Create, Distribute & Analysis.

Start by planning who you want your content to appeal to. The next step is to create content which will interest and inform them directly. Then it is time to distribute it across your social media accounts before finally, it is important to analyze its success and repeat the process.
